Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2025 · Last Updated: April 2025 · ETHIO AMERICAN LLC
Key principle: Kamino is a non-custodial wallet. We never hold your private keys, seed phrases, or crypto assets. Your keys are generated and stored exclusively on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what limited data we do collect and how we handle it.
01 Who We Are
Kamino Wallet is a product of ETHIO AMERICAN LLC, a company incorporated in the United States, with its registered address at:
3425 S 176th St Apt 284, SeaTac, WA 98188-4044, United States
References to "Kamino," "we," "us," or "our" in this Privacy Policy refer to ETHIO AMERICAN LLC and the Kamino Wallet application available for iOS and Android.
02 Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate and improve the Kamino Wallet. This falls into two categories:
Information you provide directly:
- Email address (if you sign up for beta access or support communications)
- Contact details submitted via Telegram, WhatsApp, or email when you reach out to us
- Feedback and bug reports you voluntarily submit
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Crash logs and error diagnostics (anonymized)
- General usage analytics — screens viewed, feature interactions (no personal identifiers)
- Public blockchain addresses you choose to add to the wallet (for balance and transaction lookups via public nodes)
We never collect: private keys, seed phrases, wallet passwords, or PIN codes. These remain encrypted on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
03 How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Kamino Wallet application
- To respond to your support requests and communications
- To diagnose technical issues and fix bugs via crash reports
- To send you important product updates and security notices (beta participants only)
- To perform AML risk screening on wallet addresses as described in Section 4
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
04 AML Screening & Blockchain Data
Kamino Wallet includes a real-time Anti-Money Laundering (AML) screening feature. This is a core part of our product and operates as follows:
- When you initiate or receive a transaction, the public blockchain address of the counterparty is submitted to our AML screening API.
- This address is checked against global sanctions lists (including OFAC), known darknet market wallets, ransomware addresses, and mixing service fingerprints.
- A risk score (0–100) is returned to your device in real time (typically under 300ms).
- Address data submitted for AML checks is processed ephemerally and is not permanently stored in association with your identity.
- We may retain anonymized, aggregated screening statistics for product improvement and compliance record-keeping.
Important: Public blockchain data — including addresses and transaction history — is inherently public on the blockchain. Kamino only queries what is already publicly visible. We do not have access to your private transaction history beyond what you explicitly display within the app.
05 Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers in the following circumstances:
- AML data providers — blockchain address data submitted for risk screening (public addresses only, no personal data)
- Analytics providers — anonymized, aggregated usage data to understand app performance
- Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting and crash reporting services operating under strict data processing agreements
- Legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or government authority under applicable US law
All third-party service providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
06 Data Storage & Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect any data we handle:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3
- Server-side data is stored with AES-256 encryption at rest
- Access to production systems is restricted to authorized team members only, with multi-factor authentication required
- Private keys and seed phrases are never transmitted — they are generated locally and stored in your device's Secure Enclave (iOS) or StrongBox (Android)
Data we collect is stored on servers located in the United States. If you are accessing Kamino from outside the US, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by applicable law. Beta participant contact information is deleted within 12 months of the conclusion of the beta program unless you have opted into further communications.
07 Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Objection — Object to certain processing of your data
- Portability — Request a machine-readable copy of data you have provided to us

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
08 Children's Privacy

Your continued use of Kamino Wallet after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
